Has anyone heard of the deadly disease mesothelioma? It's a rare form of cancer that is usually linked to exposure to asbestos. Apparently back in the day, there were products made with asbestos and these workers in the plants would inhale the particles and later were found with lung cancer.
Now normally I wouldn't go this offtopic but I saw on the Daily Show that there is an actual town in Canada that produces asbestos fibers. This is astounding to me after seeing all the harmful effects that prolonged exposure to asbestos causes...

Here's a link to a clip from the Daily Show. I know its a satirical program but I thought it was pretty alarming, what do you guys think?

Asbestos reminds me of Cave Johnson...
ye i got same association
I hate diseases.
Asbestos is fine if you don't inhale it. AS long as it is only used for purposes where it is highly unlikely to be inhaled then I don't think it's a big problem
ah just saw word cancer and i've stopped reading!
What up with everyone posting about asbestos these days...
Yeah, I saw something about that. It's greedy ass people that try to do things the cheapest. Fuckers.
Same old story...
wat the... i didnt know about this and gotta "love" how humans just kill each other undirectly..
lol I remember my grade school getting torn apart over the summer because of how much Asbestos there was in it >.>
I just recently been to Quebec but I didn't know about s town there actually still producing asbestos. I always thought that many manufacturers actually moved away from using it and use some other insulators.
They put that shit everywhere in the 60s. Schools, hospitals, you name it.
You can't sell it to Canadians but they still sell it to other countries.
cool clip
Going to work with plates of asbestos, I've bought an awesome gasmask just for the occasion (not really, I just wanted one!)
If Asbestos is Asbest then this shit was banned in Germany years ago cuz it fucks up your lung
Asbestos has a looong history, it used to be used to make shirts.
This concerns me as an African-American man.
Asbestos still can be found on some roofs on the older buildings, as it was excessively used for building those. Yeah, it's a shame such harmful substances are still produced these days.
Cancer is pretty creepy, but we shouldn't get paranoid about everything we breathe/eat/etc. Asbesto's pretty bad tho...
