Fight Analysis
Straus vs Foster- Daniel Straus, a man who prides himself on NOT finishing fights, finished Kenny Foster with a guillotine choke. Foster was the underdog in the fight, but both guys promised a war. After a good start in the 1st round for Foster, Straus started to find his grappling rythm, which lead to the late submission victory.
Zack Markovsky vs Chad Robichaux - Robichaux was the undefeated submission wiz coming into this fight, promising another exciting submission victory to his arsenal. The ever relentless Markovsky had other plans. Markovsky dominated the wrestling aspect of this fight, but the key points in that being able to pass Robichaux's guard into side control at will. Robichaux showed his great heart by surviving a fairly-tight Rear Naked Choke and an Arm Triangle that looked like it would surely end the fight. Markovsky did manage to get into mount and pepper Robichaux with a barrage of punches to end the fight by TKO.
Patricio Pitbull vs Wilson Reis - These two warriors had already fought once in their mixed martial art careers, with Pitbull winning by decision. However, Reis claimed he was a much better fighter than that of his past. Both men are BJJ black belts with knockout power, so this had all the makings of a good fight. Pitbull dominated the majority of the fight and ended up by a flurry of punches which KO'd Reis against the fence.
Joe Warren vs Marcos Galvao - MMA judging being what it is (shitty), this decision caused a lot of controversy. Not only was it obvious that Galvao won the first two rounds, but one judge scored the fight 30-27, meaning he had Warren winning all three rounds. Galvao managed to stuff and reverse Warren's takedowns early while trying some submission attempts. But the [self-proclaimed] "Baddest Man on the Planet" managed to last the fight.
