Strikeforce/M1-Global: Fedor vs Henderson - Henderson drops Fedor for TKO win

What a crazy display of MMA just last night. Two legends of the sport, Fedor Emelianenko vs Dan Henderson, were set to do battle last night in the Strikeforce octagon.

Both fighters started off the round with a very fast pace, immediately throwing bombs, and in that exchange Henderson lands a hook that sends Fedor backwards. Henderson takes the opportunity to get the cage clinch, and lands several short knees to the inner thigh of Fedor. They eventually separate when Henderson tries to land two big haymakers.

After the cage separation, Fedor attacks Henderson with a flurry of punches, and actually gets Henderson down on the canvas. However, Henderson is very good at the scrambles and recovery, and uses a single leg to scramble up behind Fedor. He then lands one single punch which looks to flash KO Fedor, as Fedor's body went completely limp and face first into the canvas.

Since the fight had ended so abruptly, many Fedor fans thought the stoppage was controversial. I completely disagree, when a fighter has their hands to their side and is laying face first in the canvas, the fight SHOULD be stopped. Had Herb Dean not stepped in, Henderson would've just landed more brutal ground n' pound on Fedor.

This arises a question about the level of competition in Fedor's fights. He has now dropped 3 in a row, all against 3 very good competition. Will Fedor retire, what do you guys think?

Co-Main Event: Miesha Tate vs Marloes Coenen

Thanks for the coverage.

Fedor should probably call it quits. Getting stopped in the first by a 40 year old LHW is pretty embarrassing.
